POA Invited to "Cities & World 2025" European-American Touring Exhibition in Athens, Greece

CHICAGO/ATHENS – POA Architecture has been jointly invited by the Chicago Architecture Museum and the European Architecture Center to participate in the prestigious "Cities & World 2025" International Architecture Exhibition, which will grandly unfold from September 12 to October 5, 2025. This event marks the launch of POA’s Europe-America touring exhibition, a cultural initiative designed to foster dialogue between Eastern design philosophies and the origins of Western civilization, positioning architecture as a "living vessel" for cross-cultural exchange.

The firm’s works will be showcased at the main exhibition venue, Contemporary Space Europe in Athens, Greece, as part of this global tour.

ATHENS – "Athens Symposium: The City and the World 2025" (Greek: Συμπόσιο Αθηνών: Η Πόλη και ο Κόσμος 2025) stands as a core academic and exhibition program within the ecosystem of the Athens Biennale, one of Southern Europe’s most avant-garde contemporary art platforms. Characterized by its "decentralized, interdisciplinary dialogue" ethos, the Athens Biennale unites global artists, architects, and scholars each edition to advance critical practices around socio-cultural themes.

As a key section of this year’s Biennale, the exhibition shifts focus to the role of "architecture and the city" amid globalization, ecological crises, and technological transformation. Moving beyond "purely aesthetic display," it delves into profound reflection on urban systems as complex, adaptive entities—a critical intellectual platform for the architecture field to address pressing contemporary challenges.

POA Architecture’s participating project, Phoenix Green Valley Comprehensive Bonded Zone, is a mixed-use development that integrates diverse functions including supply chain platforms, logistics hubs, processing facilities, and R&D (research and development) centers. Structured around a "one core, two axes, four zones" layout—featuring a central core for collaborative activities, two linear axes (a "connectivity axis" and an "innovation axis") weaving programmatic elements together, and four distinct zones (industrial production, R&D incubation, service support, and ecological greenery)—the project constructs a symbiotic network linking industrial functionality and urban life. This design directly responds to the Biennale’s focus on "industrial iteration and the synergistic evolution of urban space": by integrating functions, it breaks down the traditional isolation of industrial parks, transforming the complex into a "living vessel" for industry-city integration. Through this, POA demonstrates a model for the integrated development of industrial ecosystems and urban ecosystems.
