POA was awarded the right to design Xu Yu International Plaza. 

Xu Yu International Plaza is a new landmark in the form of a ‘sail’ in Xu Wei New District, Lianyungang. POA was commissioned by Fang Yang Group to design an office, hotel and commercial services headquarter campus for their new site in the area, which will become a future urban landmark for Xu Wei with a Chinese identity.

The design is inspired by the corporate philosophy of Fang Yang Group: the foundation of Fangzheng, the banner of Yangfan. The architectural form and cultural symbols are united in the combination of three buildings.

The shape of the building is designed with ‘Sailing’ as the main theme element, setting sail and breaking into the world. The minimalist yet powerful expression of the form is full of tension and inspiring, and expresses the corporate spirit of Fang Yang Group in a straightforward manner. The design of the building skin integrates nature and technology, and the entire façade adopts energy-saving curtain wall as the external wall material to ensure the simplicity of the shape.

Through the dialogue between architecture and the city, POA takes the emotional and spiritual needs of people as the starting point, and brings the ‘humanistic care’ originated from the oriental tradition into the design, and devotes itself to proposing a new architectural imagination. 

Creating a smooth and organic, futuristic and technological architectural mood greatly enhances the owner's spatial and visual experience, and ultimately the idea of a high degree of compatibility with the enterprise's development philosophy won the owner's recognition.

Starting from the design of the mother element, Xu Yu International Plaza grows into a large-scale cityscape like a cell carrying the corporate culture gene of Fang Yang Group, which brings an atmosphere to the city and makes people living and working in it feel the vitality of the building.
