POA China Eye Valley Convention Centre wins AMP American Master Builder Award

The winners of the 2024 Architecture Master Prize have been announced, and POA Architects' China Eye Valley Convention Centre has been honoured.

The Architecture Master Prize (AMP), formerly known as the AAP Architecture Prize, was established in 2016 by Hossein Farmani to recognise the most creative, innovative and influential projects and firms from around the world. The winning entries are highly innovative, creative and sustainable, taking into account the building's traditional expression of the region in which it is located, as well as its impact on ecology, social engagement and culture.

The global jury of 2024 consisted of outstanding representatives from the cultural fields of architecture, interior and landscape design in three directions. From the thousands of entries from 81 countries around the world, they selected a total of 217 award-winning works in the architecture category of this year's event, with a total of 55 works from Chinese design teams, accounting for about 28% of the total, of which the China Eygul Exhibition Centre won the 2024 Honorable Mention Award of Excellence.

Hossein Farman, an artist of Iranian descent, says: The Grand Prize encourages the pursuit of a form of excellence: a form that is a combination of ethics and intellect, and one that embodies a local heritage while fulfilling the goals of innovation, creative freedom and eco-efficiency. We want architecture to push its own boundaries. Therefore the beauty of architecture should not be defined by traditional criteria. Instead, it should express itself through an authenticity that can be agreed upon, thus shaping a true wonder.’

China Eye Valley Exhibition Centre

Our dream is not only to create an urban space with commercial support for hotels and conventions, but also to turn it into a unique earth art space in the world, integrating technology, nature, and the history of the city's landscape to establish a relationship of cultural inheritance.

Connecting with nature at the internal and external junctions of the building

Located in the heart of China's Eye Valley, POA's design combines the hotel, exhibition and commercial functions with the natural landscape, creating a mathematical ‘∞’ symbol in the city centre, forming the ‘Eye Valley’ intention and implying the infinite development possibilities of China's Eye Valley. It also implies the infinite development possibilities of China's Eye Valley, integrating the project's growth and the Eye Valley's planning and development.
